A vision for the future
A fresh approach is required
The Octagon House site, known to many as the former Norweb HQ, could be providing so much more for the people of Ardwick.
Located at the prominent junction of Hathersage Road and Carmoor Road, the site was also the operational base of United Utilities PLC until 2013 and has for decades been an important employment hub in the area.
Although it is now home to the Central Manchester NHS Renal Dialysis Unit, the site has not fully adjusted to Manchester’s changing needs and is yet to reach its true potential.
Our focus is on Practical regeneration - retaining and improving the existing Octagon House building and strengthening its relationships with Manchester’s key employers and institutions.
The ambition is to bring the whole site back into sustainable economic use, creating a new, mixed residential neighbourhood, that feels safer, greener, better managed and more connected to the surrounding area.
By listening to the local community, we hope to achieve a significant regeneration project with both practical and visible benefits, that provides more employment and better amenity to Ardwick.
